At the turn of the 20th century, the tin-mining industry propelled the Ipoh into a frenzied hive of activities. The height of its glory peaked in the 1950s when it became the most happening entertainment hub in the country having the most cinemas, cabarets, amusement parks and night life. Its growth stagnated in the late 1970s when the tin prices came crashing down and the tin mines were closed.
People
The majority population in Ipoh are Chinese (70%) and the remain are Malays (17%), Indian (12.5) and Others (0.5%).
In the morning, people in Ipoh like to have breakfast at the food court and restaurants. The majority of them are Chinese and small group of Indian people.

As everybody know, Ipoh is very famous with their food.
Delicious barbecue-flavoured pork called "Char Siew" in Ipoh.
The most important thing you cannot missed in Ipoh! The legendary Nga Choi Kai which actually means bean-sprout and chicken.
We've bought some "Yim Kok Kai" at Kheng Lim which is the famous salted chicken.

Activities
We spent the whole night inside the club. It was a hell of an experience for all of us.
Teo Kean Hui was drunk and vomited for 2 hours continuously.

The famous Tuck Kee fried kuey teow. We miss the kuey teow.
Tambun hot-spring is located inside The Lost World of Tambun which is located in Sunway Ipoh. The Lost World of Tambun is a water park.
Buildings

These two buildings are famous because of their Chicken Hor Fun.
This little alley has a restaurant in it which has already been there for almost 30 years. The food is very nice in the restaurant and this alley was used to be a place for man to keep woman which is having an affair with the man from their wife.
This shop is not just famous of their Chicken Hor Fun and also the legendary custard which is limited everyday not just that, the Chee Cheong Fun is also the famous one in Ipoh.

ReplyDeleteThe Claypot Yee Mee looks delicious, I regret that I did not have a try to eat Claypot Yee Mee at Ipoh. Ipoh's night life is Amazing!
